Personal Insurance: In-home Business

Most Homeowners policies exclude coverage for losses related to business activities. You may not have coverage if you suffer a property loss or liability claim related to your home-based business.

Atlas' In-Home Business Policy is specially designed for home businesses and includes protection for damage to your inventory or customers' goods, theft coverage, medical payments for those injured on your premises, liability and more.

The same things that can happen to your home can also happen to your home business:

  • A customer slips and falls on your premises, is injured and is now suing you
  • You return home and discover your house and office are on fire
  • While at a trade show, your inventory is stolen from your car
  • etc.

The In-Home Business policy is designed for retail and service risks operating from an insured's residence, which presents minimal product liability, professional liability and/or off-premises liability exposures. Samples of eligible business include graphic artists, household product distributors, bookkeeping services, desktop publishing services, photographers, interior decorators and crafters.
