We are extremely excited to have three Shidler College of Business students join our internship program! Now in our third year of the program, Donnabelle Agtarap, Kezzo Pacanuayan, and Mark Ushiroda will explore the role an insurance agency plays in the Hawaii community.
Donnabelle, Kezzo, and Mark are assigned to different business units within the agency, but are still able to catch a glimpse into each main business unit through rotations with department heads. From the beginning, we work with each intern to tailor the internship around their interests to help them gain exposure to projects and reports essential to Atlas and our clients.
To cap off their internship, they will each be assigned an internship project culminating in a presentation to the executive management team. We look forward to seeing them gain important business skills and progress their career development!
Donnabelle Agtarap
Year: Senior
Major: Human Resources
“As a human resource major, I thought it would be a great opportunity to learn about benefits. Many of the classes that are offered at UH Manoa mainly focus on areas such as recruitment and training that I thought it would be a nice change and expand my knowledge in HR. Through attending the Island Insurance networking event that was held last year, that also got me interested in learning more about the company as a whole and what each company has to offer.
Through this internship, I hope to gain a better understanding of the HR world and to maybe find an area that I would like to specialize in the future. I also hope to gain a lot of feedback that’ll benefit me both personally and professionally. I truly am excited to see where this position will take me and what other learning opportunities this will expose me to.”
Kezzo Pacanuayan
Year: Senior
Major: Finance
“I decided on Atlas because of its strong and successful internship program. As a Finance major, I have always been intrigued by insurance. And this internship will provide real world experiences that will help me decide on a career path when I graduate on Spring 2020.”
Mark Ushiroda

“I decided to pursue the Atlas internship program to be able to gain experience pertaining to my interest in finance. Through my internship with Atlas, I hope to gain more insight into the insurance industry.”
