Three New Additions to the Business Insurance Unit
We are proud to announce the hiring of Joey Barroso (pronounced Bar-OH-so) and Ryan Robertson as Business Development Managers, and Izumi Kinney as an Associate Account Executive in the Sales/Retention department.
In his new role, Joey Barroso is responsible for strategically identifying and establishing new commercial insurance client relationships. Before joining Atlas Insurance Agency, Barroso served as general manager and corporate account executive for 24 Hour Fitness USA, Inc. since 2006, where he significantly grew the company’s corporate portfolio and managed their clients’ corporate programs. Prior to this, Joey worked in a variety of human resources roles.
Barroso earned a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Masters of Business Administration from Boise State University. He is a resident of Honolulu.
Ryan Robertson will focus his efforts towards cultivating new client relationships with community associations and look to ensure all property and casualty coverage needs are accurately addressed and identified. Robertson has been working in the insurance industry for nearly two decades, including ownership of a successful multi-line insurance agency in Oregon.
Robertson hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management with a minor in Communications from Southern Oregon University. He holds a Chartered Leadership Fellow designation through the American College of Financial Services, served as Board Trustee for the Asante Hospital Systems Foundation and past volunteer with Junior Achievement. He currently resides with his wife and children in Ewa Beach.
Izumi Kinney will be part of the sales and retention unit, servicing commercial business clientele.
Fluent in Japanese, Kinney has worked in the insurance industry since 2010, servicing small to large Japanese businesses as a property casualty producer for commercial and personal lines. Prior to her work in the insurance industry, Izumi was a certified pubic accountant licensed in California.
Kinney graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Accounting from California State University, San Marcos. She is currently involved in the Kahauiki Village Homeless Project as a consultant providing liaison support between the Japanese prefabricated home manufacturer and the Kahauiki Village team. She is a member of the Japan-America Society of Hawaii and a resident of Honolulu.
